High borosilicate glass is known as the purest glass in the world. The chemical properties are very stable, very heat-resistant, and will not release toxic elements even after heating, so it is generally used as baby bottle and glass cup for drinking water and tea.

High borosilicate glass can withstand an instantaneous temperature difference of about 150 ºC, so unless in extremely cold areas, pouring 100 centigrade degree hot water will not rupture.
